The Actual People, Places and Documents

Thom's experiences during Apartheid South Africa reveal how both societal and religious dogmas controlled lives. A time of tyranny, not freedom.

Experiences such as Thom's, touched untold lives and shaped many outcomes. Apartheid South Africa affected the world and the country's citizens. But Apartheid wasn't the only form of control. The Watchtower Society had its dogma too, which tried to control Thom, his mother and father, and his extended family. This was not a time of liberal thinking, human rights, and freedom of association — it was a time of tyranny and social suppression. Here are some of the main characters of the time.
